To transport your bicycle in optimal conditions, please remember to: - remove the pedals, - remove the front wheel and attach it to the frame, - attach the handlebars on the side (parallel to the frame), - place your bicycle in protective packaging (cardboard, hard plastic). Bicycle boxes are available for purchase at most Air France check-in counters.
Ski equipment
- Alpine skis: 1 pair of skis + 1 pair of poles + 1 pair of boots - Snowboards: 1 board + 1 pair of boots - Water skis: skis only
We recommend that you place all skis and boards in protective packaging.
Surf, windsurf, kitesurf and bodysurf boards
The sum of all 3 dimensions of your board must measure less than 3 meters. All boards must be placed in adequate protective packaging. Air France does not offer slipcovers or boxes designed for windsurf boards.
The transport conditions for these items depend upon the baggage allowance for your destination.
On all flights operated by AIR FRANCE and KLM, the transport of sporting equipment is included in your baggage allowance. Above the limit, a fixed fee applies for each one-way flight.
Golf bags
The transport of golf bags is completely free of charge, as long as the total weight does not surpass 20kg per person, regardless of the number or weight of the baggage items checked in the hold.
Diving equipment, skis, snowboards, surf boards (including windsurf, kitesurf and bodysurf boards) and bicycles
Sporting equipment is included in the baggage allowance.
Exceeding the weight allowance, a fixed fee applies for each one-way flight, with a 20kg limit per set of equipment:
- Metropolitan France: 20 € - European flights: 40 € - Other flights: 80 €
On all AIR FRANCE and KLM flights with a limit on the number of baggage items, the transport of sporting equipment is subject to the following regulations:
Golf bags

Please note: On flights departing from the USA, Mexcio and Havana, the fee is 200 USD. On flights departing from Canada, the fee is 200 CAD.
