Hand baggage

What can you bring into the cabin? From size and weight limits to prohibited items and transporting liquids, find out all you need to know to prepare your hand baggage.

Some goods present a risk to your security and that of other passengers. Check the information below before placing them in your baggage.

Prohibited goods

For your security, some items are strictly prohibited on board. They will be confiscated at baggage control.

  • Knives and any similar items.
  • Firearms.
  • Hunting weapon cartridges and other ammunition.
  • Ink cartridges.
  • Perfume bottles over 100 ml /3.4 fl. oz.
  • Cosmetic aerosol containers over 100 ml /3.4 fl. oz.
  • Cigarette lighters fluid.
  • Electrolyte batteries.
  • Lithium batteries with power greater than 160 Wh (consult the Conditions for transporting batteries and lithium batteries PDF for more information).
  • Fireworks, firecrackers, signal flares, cap or toy guns, firelighters, tear gas.
  • Camp stoves, gas canisters, scuba oxygen tanks.
  • Paints, varnishes, lacquers.
  • Toxic, infectious, and radioactive materials.
  • Chemical products, fertilizers, weed killers, pesticides, insecticides.
  • Strippers, bleach, chlorine, cleaning products.
  • Inflammable liquids like fuel, thinners, solvents, and acetones.
  • Mercury thermometers and barometers.

Regulated goods

The products listed below are permitted in the cabin, but are subject to specific regulations (non-exhaustive list).

Food oils

These products must be placed under the seat in front of you in a hermetically sealed container that respects the required European security measures (100 ml max. in a resealable, clear plastic bag).

Restricted products for import

The import of perishable goods such as food and plants is prohibited or strictly regulated according to the country.
In particular, transporting meat originating from wild animals is strictly prohibited in the European Union.
