Tribute to painter Zao Wou-Ki

04/17/2013
Air France would like to pay tribute to renowned Franco-Chinese painter
Zao Wou-Ki, who passed away on April 9, 2013. Air France had the privilege of collaborating with the great artist on several projects: he designed the décor in the changing rooms of the La Première cabin on the Boeing 747, as well as our menu holders.
A member of France´s Academy of Fine Arts, Zao Wou-Ki was elevated to the rank of great master of lyrical abstraction. Through his work, he successfully combined his Chinese heritage with the influence of the Western painters he loved, including Cézanne, Klee and Matisse. He leaves behind an immense catalogue of work consisting of abstract paintings, Chinese ink and even stained glass.
