1. Can I travel with any kind of animal on Air France?

No.

  • Dogs of the following races cannot be transported on any Air France flights, including by freight: Stafforshire terrier, mastiff (boerbull), tosa, pittbull.
  • Small rodents (rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs) cannot travel with unaccompanied minors.
  • Ferrets and polecats can only travel by freight.
  • Parrots must be transported by cargo.

With the exception of cats, dogs, small tame birds in cages covered with a piece of fabric (canaries, budgerigars) and small rodents (hamsters, guinea pigs and rabbits only), all animals must travel by cargo.
2. Can pets travel in the cabin as well?
Only cats and dogs are accepted in the cabon. The container is considered as cabin baggage. For pets in the cabin, the allowable weight is 6KG maximum for the combined weight of the pet and the container. NB: From and to continental France and French overseas territories, buying, importing and transporting certain breeds of dog on our lines are strictly prohibited, even as cargo.
The pet must be kept in a kennel with air vents at the owner's feet throughout the flight. The kennel can be made of hard plastic, metal or wicker, but not cardboard. The sum of its three dimensions must not exceed 115 cm. And we recommend that owners give their pets (with veterinary guidance) something to fight airsickness.
3. Which pets are not allowed to travel in the cabin?

Pets over 5 kg must travel in the pressurized and heated baggage hold.
Government-approved cages are available, please ask when you reserve.

4. Can service dogs accompany passengers in the cabin?

Service dogs accompanying passengers with disabilities are allowed in the cabin free of charge. They must remain at their owner's feet and be appropriately harnessed and muzzled.
