Upgrades apply only to one-way flights.

From November 3, 2008, Flying Blue upgrade awards apply to all SkyTeam airlines (except Alitalia and SkyTeam partner airlines).
- Anyone travelling with a Flying Blue member may reserve an upgrade
- Members must purchase a full-fare, international ticket in the Economy Class on a principal SkyTeam flight (using the flight number given by the airline operating the flight)
- Code share flights are excluded
- All upgrades will depend on the availability of seats in the requested class
- The Economy Class ticket must be an electronic ticket issued by a SkyTeam member airline or a SkyTeam partner airline
- The upgrade award request must be performed at least three days before the flight departure time
- Upgrades can only be requested with Flying Blue customer service
- The Flying Blue program does not allow multiple upgrades for a one-way flight
- Upgrades must occur from the Economy class to a higher class
- For departures from the United Kingdom, France, and India, additional taxes apply to travel in the Affaires class. This tax will be paid by the Flying Blue member.
Remember that Miles cannot be used to pay for airport taxes, security taxes, or fuel surcharges. These must be paid separately.
