Baggage services and lost items

Upon your flight's arrival*, you discover that an item is missing from your checked baggage.

If you are still at the airport

If you discover that an item is missing from your baggage and you are still at the airport, please proceed to Air France Baggage Service at your arrival airport to inform us of the incident. A Property Irregularity Report (PIR) will be established and you will receive an associated file number. Please keep this number to track your request.
If your arrival airport is Paris-Charles de Gaulle or Paris-Orly, you must complete a report using a standard form available at the airport. Our staff will then transfer the report to the French police.

If you have left the airport

If you discover that an item is missing from your baggage after leaving the airport, you must submit a compensation request using the online form within 7 days of receiving your baggage. Beyond 7 days, we cannot process your request.

If your arrival airport is located in metropolitan France, Guadeloupe, French Guiana, Martinique, Reunion or French Polynesia, please complete the pre-report form available here. For all other arrival airports, we recommend you file a report with the local police. This will help us process your request.
