The Île Courts Festival is run by a handful of film buffs: the Porteurs d'Images society has best intentions when it comes to cinema and its local talents, with a will to make it happen out of these blue seas and, one day, take off for good. Île Courts is a major local event that takes place every year in various cinema theatres around the island, from Maurice to Port-Louis, Réduit to Bagatelle or Rose Hill.
Whether indoor or outdoor under the stars, the festival offers a nice selection of current short films. Some are even produced by the Porteurs d'Images society, allowing young Mauritian filmmakers to give a singular point of view on the Indian Ocean. Another way to explore the complexity and diversity of this island country.
