A new museum for Banksy and Warhol

Gallerists and collectors Lionel and Kim Logchies open the Moco, their new museum, with a show about ‘the rock stars of art', Andy Warhol and Banksy.

The artists that Lionel and Kim Logchies collect and represent in Amsterdam include Jeff Koons, Damien Hirst, and Keith Haring. Lovers of the works of Jean-Michel Basquiat, Picasso, and Salvador Dalí, the gallerists and collectors wanted to show paintings by the artists they actively support to a much wider circle. So they created, in a mansion designed by the architect Eduard Cuypers, this new museum of contemporary art. For the opening, two artists they love especially are showcased: the king of pop art, Andy Warhol, and the agitator of street art, Banksy. Most of the paintings on exhibit are from private collections and rarely seen in public.
