Ai Weiwei at the Palazzo Strozzi in Florence

Controversial artist Ai Weiwei displays his vision of the world for the first time in Italy, in the Red Fleur-de-lys city.

As a jewel of the Italian Renaissance, the palace turned museum Palazzo Strozzi is known beyond Italian borders for the quality of its exhibitions. Lined with columns and arcades and located in the heart of Florence, it already highlighted the works of Cézanne, Klimt and Peggy Guggenheim among others.

In September 2016, Ai Weiwei is invited to present his work for the first time in Italy. This is a major event as the Chinese artist and dissident is known to be among the most influential of his generation. The works gathered at Palazzo Strozzi represent his artistic evolution. Moreover, in situ installations will find an echo in this beautiful place filled with art and history.
