With its film museum and its ‘sacred monsters' from Fritz Lang to Marlene Dietrich, and the Boulevard of Stars, a copy of Hollywood, Berlin is definitely a city marked by the 7th art. Further proof is offered with the Berlinale, one of the largest film festivals in the world. Each year, this glamorous event thrills the public, international stars, and industry professionals, who come to discover its rich programme. More than 400 international films, shorts, and features, including films for younger audiences, experimental works, and popular films, are projected in theatres around Berlin. Among them, the future Golden Bear winner. This prestigious award is given by an official jury for the best feature film of the international competition. Taxi Tehran, Sarajevo My Love and Magnolia are among the films that have thus been distinguished in recent years.
