Brest's 2016 International Maritime Festival

Every 4 years, Brest's harbour is transformed for a grand seaside rendezvous, the International Maritime Festival.

After celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2012, Brest's International Maritime Festival is now returning! This year, millions of curious attendees and old sea dogs will line the quays or watch from the water the procession of yachts, regattas, fishing boats, military vessels and large sailboats, some of which have been sailing the oceans since the beginning of last century.

This year's highlight will be the presence of the Hermione, a replica of La Fayette's historical flagship. The six days of this large maritime gathering will not be short of wonderful surprises. Concerts, fireworks (especially the splendid one for the 14 July), night parades, entertainment, exhibitions celebrating navigation and transcending Brest, and more, will go on until the closing parade, with all sails catching the iodized wind towards Douarnenez.
