In partnership with the University of Bologna, the Fondazione Lercaro modern art gallery examines the close relationship between religion and urban development in Bologna, with the use of literary sources and some of the iconic city monuments. Geographical expansion and links to the bishop's throne and the papacy are some of the major themes being dealt with during this unique itinerary which allows for a better understanding of the city's growth.
Conceived as a police investigation, the exhibition sheds a particular light on some monuments and historical figures. You can also admire rare artefacts dating back to the first centuries of the Christian era, on display to the general public for the very first time.
