In the Callejon del Chorro and just around the corner from the San Cristobal de La Habana cathedral, this small restaurant stands out, the only one of this narrow street, right up against a stone screen-printing workshop.
Owner Mayrelis Peraza named the place in tribute to Magritte. Her passion for modern art finds its way in the decoration and onto the menu: Pollock chicken, Broodthaers casserole of lamb… Behind these prestigious names, Cuban specialities are being skillfully revisited, like the ropa vieja, a meat-based dish, and among the very best in town. For dessert, go for the chocolate fondant cake, to die for.
After this food break, climb upstairs to a gallery that showcases the work of upcoming artists, then follow the sound of salsa music towards the terrace, where you will enjoy a mojito or a freshly squeezed juice. Musicians regularly perform there. A joyful and inviting address, not to be passed by.
