Gospel on the Hill

The first musical of its kind in French, ‘Gospel sur la colline' is being given two special performances at the Palais des Sports in Le Gosier.

In 1954, in Louisiana, the black community tries to break free of racial segregation. But the fear of the reaction of whites in the face of this thirst for emancipation divides the population between those who join the struggle and those who are afraid of losing what little they have. Meanwhile, as the wind of freedom blows, in the very heart of the turmoil, an impossible love is born between Rosa Lamour, a jazz star, and John, a rock ‘n' roller. What if their love was to contribute to victory?

Designed by Benjamin Faleyras and directed by Jean-Luc Moreau, this jubilant musical contest, which mixes blues, jazz, and gospel, successfully occupied the stage of the Folies Bergères in Paris during the autumn of 2015.
