In Los Angeles, a new year of football and cheerleaders

The Rose Parade invites you to a festival that is unique in the world. Combining festivities and sporting prowess, it delights young and old alike.

This festivity, which is more than a century old, is a real institution in the US. Celebrated on the second day of January in Pasadena, east of Los Angeles and at the foot of the San Gabriel Mountains, the Rose Parade pays tribute to the first day of the year and the spirit of community. Be sure to find a good spot to watch the grand parade, which marks the beginning of the festivities. Accompanied by 21 marching bands from around the country, majorettes and floats parade along Colorado Boulevard. The traditional Tournament of Roses, or Rose Bowl, is the climax of the festival. Organised for the first time in 1890, this highly popular football game brings together, as always, two university champions in this its 128th edition. The winner will be awarded the Leishman Trophy, designed by the prestigious silverware company Tiffany & Co.
