La Gacilly Photo Festival

At the crossroads of art and photojournalism is the largest outdoor photo festival in Metropolitan France and one that is committed to preserving nature.

Yves Rocher, industrial pioneer of plant-based cosmetics, has left his eco-friendly mark in La Gacilly, a small village in Morbihan where he grew up. Now the head of the brand, Jacques Rocher carries on his father's naturalist approach. The proof is in the “People & Nature” photo festival, created in 2004. Each year, large-format prints signed by well-known photographers, such as Sebastião Salgado and Edward S. Curtis, are exhibited outside at La Gacilly in a natural and pastoral setting, inspiring deeper thinking about our impact on the environment. Mother Nature will be honoured once again at the 2016 edition, alongside Guillaume Herbaut, Anita Conti, Shoji Ueda and Hiromi Tsuchida, on an aesthetic and dreamlike journey through Japanese and ocean-themed photography.
