Land of the blues, songs of the blues

Music will live as long as the blues are alive and in Marie-Galante, the blues are part of the land.

During each Pentecost long weekend, Marie-Galante moves to the sound of the blues and the ‘Terre de Blues' festival. This event which exists nowhere else, returns to the origins of African music by bridging the gap between three St. Louis: St. Louis Missouri, the home of the American blues, the Senegalese port St. Louis, a symbol of African ancestry, and St. Louis in Marie-Galante, the Creole influence. The night is set on fire by artists from Africa, the United States and the Caribbean islands.

To understand the deep and sensual tone of these concerts, simply hum the names of some of the singers from last year: Alain Jean-Marie, Mayra Andrade, Sister Sledge and Jimmy Cliff.
