Long live life! Long live the movies!

When the film library of Montevideo organises a festival, everyone's eyes are glued to the screen.

There is a true Uruguayan cinematic culture. It is both well established and modern, cultivated primarily by the film school and film library. This small country is a breeding ground for young filmmakers whose films are shown every year in this festival. Whether in the competition, panorama, retrospective, or focus categories, film lovers revel in the festival's programming, which reflects the humanity of a continent that we continue to ignore, especially in Europe. To remedy this, we sit in a room and watch back-to-back feature films… that speak volumes. The films are selected for creative and human merit. Don't miss: Dos Disparos by Martin Rejtman and Grand Street by Lex Sidon.
