Nomadic Traces: typographic journeys

The Dar Bellarj Foundation plunges you in the Nomadic Traces exhibition conceived by Huda Smitshuijzen AbiFarès. Until September 16th, 2017.

Partnering with the Susanna Biedermann Swiss foundation, the Dar Bellarj Foundation in Marrakech dresses up its walls with the Nomadic Traces exhibition. For centuries, typography and writing allowed for a definition of cultural identity between different civilisations, crossing borders to connect peoples and languages in a permanent sort of mutation. The exhibition sheds a light on five young artists: Zineb Triki, Amine Bendriouich, Laurent Mareschal, Margherita Abi-Hanna and Brahim Boucheikha. These artists use ceramics, jewellery, clay sculptures, culinary art, designer and interactive creations to explore the richness of the Moroccan heritage, and the Arab, Tifinagh and Latin writings that are associated with it. You'll be able to attend screenings of documentaries and workshops, or literary debates and even musical performances. Find out about Moroccan traditions and the nomadic culture in Maghreb, right in the heart of Marrakech's medina!
