Paris: Rue du Cherche-Midi reinvents itself

From the Sèvres-Babylone metro station on Paris's Left Bank, you will find a bustling neighbourhood where historic venues sit side-by-side with innovative establishments. Rue du Cherche-Midi is reinventing itself.

Florist Franck knows his street like the back of his hand – he has been creating arrangements using local flowers here for 20 years. With a front-row seat to the neighbourhood's renaissance, he is happy to see so many new entrepreneurs setting up shop to revitalise the area.

Among them is Hugues-Olivier, who founded Apéti, an organic restaurant that shines a spotlight on seasonal fruits and vegetables in Buddha bowls and original smoothies. Foodies eat your hearts out.

At the corner of Rue Saint-Placide, the Ferme d'Alexandre will have cheese-lovers salivating. From the 350 different options to choose from, why not try the Hercule, a delicate and creamy half goat, half sheep's milk tome cheese?

Across the street is La Meringaie, a perfect spot for dessert. Benoît and Marie created this pastry shop with a totally new concept. The couple wanted to give meringue, the traditional egg white-based treat, an update with bold new flavours. One such example features a surprising blend of raspberry and passionfruit.

In the evening, the Hôtel Lutetia's majestic Art Deco facade will entice you to spend a tranquil night in Paris. This newly renovated hotel has a plethora of services to help you unwind. From the spa to the pool, you can wind down your exploration of the neighbourhood in total relaxation.
