Known as one of Latin America's biggest outdoor rock festivals, Rock Al Parque welcomes hundreds of thousands visitors, coming from all around the world, every year since its creation in 1995. At the centre of the Simón Bolívar park, the festival offers some gruelling 45 hours of music, spread through three days of free concerts.
Though its rawness was the festival's hallmark, it has now embraced a certain eclecticism, encompassing every genre from rock, punk and metal to reggae, ska and blues. Many artists and bands, whether famous or in the making, come up for unique and festive shows.
The 2016 edition is headlined by the Americans of Deafheaven and Black Dahlia Murder, the English of Gbh and Napalm Death, the Cuban-Mexicans of Leiden, the Colombians of Mr Bleat and Pedrina Y Río, and the Brazilians of Sepultura.
