The Christmas Market in Frankfurt
Published on

Enjoy year-end magic during the holiday season at Frankfurt's famous Christmas Market!
Each year, about three million visitors make the trip to Frankfurt, central Germany, for traditional Christmas shopping. Founded in 1393, the Christmas market in Frankfurt is the oldest and largest of its kind in Europe. Wander through some 200 stalls selling mulled wine, sweets, and giftware on the Römerberg, the Paulsplatz, and the Main docks. The highlight of the market is the 30-metre-high Christmas tree overlooking the old town. Concerts, chimes and a variety of entertainment give this winter market its inimitable atmosphere.
