The echo of stars, divas, and composers

From legendary operas under the stars, in the most regal and historical settings, to year round performances at the Philharmonic, Paris adores classical music.

Since 2001, the open-air opera festival has played the most beautiful sites in and around Paris, including the Musée des Invalides and Chateau de Vincennes. From mid-June to mid-September, the festival gives hundreds of spectators the opportunity to experience an original staging of a classical work. The event, which promotes young talent and great lyrical works among new audiences celebrates all the greats: Mozart, Verdi, Puccini, Bizet, Offenbach, and Rossini.

The Philharmonie de Paris offers a rich program of concerts and performances throughout the year. This incredible, spaceship-like building designed by the architect Jean Nouvel hosts the Paris Chamber Orchestra, the National Orchestra of the Île-de-France, Les Arts Florissants, and, most importantly, prestigious orchestras, international conductors, and soloists from around the world. Its numerous auditoriums – including the Grande Salle Pierre Boulez with its unique acoustics - showcase contemporary and world music, as well as classical repertoire.
