The Grand Cuban golf tournament

This competition takes place on one of the best golf courses in the Caribbean in the enchanting setting of Varadero.

The Varadero Golf Club has its many fans, as much for its location on the seaside as for its tournament. Organised by the hoteliers association and taking place every year on this 18-hole course with a par of 72, the contest sees professionals and amateurs (it is only necessary to be 18 or older) compete in three categories: a ‘medal play' category open to those with a handicap of 0 to 12, and two categories using the Stableford scoring system: one for men with a handicap of 12 to 24, the other for women with a handicap of between 0 to 30. The rules are very strict, especially in terms of clothing. The dress code of pants or shorts and a polo shirt with collar must be respected.
