The new, fashionable museum tour

With attractions such as the Rodin Museum, the Museum of Mankind and the Picasso Museum, Paris abounds with art, history and culture.

The Rodin Museum opened its doors in 1919. It is housed within the former Hôtel Peyrenc de Moras, more commonly known as the “Hôtel Biron”, which was built back in the 18th century. Located in the rue de Varenne, a stone's throw from the Eiffel Tower and Les Invalides, it features works not only by Auguste Rodin, one of the fathers of modern sculpture, but also by his muse, the artist Camille Claudel, spread over two floors. Outside, the sculpture garden provides an opportunity to discover more works by the master, in an magnificent natural setting.

On the Place du Trocadéro in the grounds of the Palais de Chaillot, the Museum of Mankind takes a fascinating and enlightened look at the human race, its history and its future. Its spectacular, 2,500-sqm Gallery of Mankind, one of the museum's showpieces, showcase some of the world's finest anthropological and paleontological collections.

In the heart of the 3rd arrondissement, the national Picasso Museum displays its collections in the Hôtel Salé, one of the most beautiful and most Baroque private mansions in the Marais neighbourhood. This historical property, completely renovated by the architect Jean-François Bodin, contains no fewer than 500 works by Pablo Picasso, the genius Spanish artist, including paintings, sculptures, engravings, and drawings, as well as works by his friends Matisse, Miró and Braque.
