The September revolution of the Moscow Marathon

Run in one of the most beautiful cities in the world, a land of contrasts between the new business district (Moskva-City) and the Kremlin.

In 2015, of more than 20,000 participants (marathon and 10km runners start together), 5,572 crossed the finish line at Luzhniki Stadium, behind Kenyan Kiptoo Lazarus Kimutai, who covered the 42.195 kilometres in 2 hours, 19 minutes, and 20 sec. The magnificent course starts out in the shadow of the skyscrapers of the business district in west central Moscow (Moskva-City), before crossing the Crimea Bridge, going past the Russian bohemian east, crossing the Chistye Prudy area, going up Tverskaya street past Pushkin House, heading up to the Kremlin, and finishing at Luzhniki Stadium. This third edition will perhaps end the continued triumph of the Kenyans, who won as well in 2014. At this time of year, the temperature is very lenient to runners: 13°C.
