A perfect account of the Scandinavian spirit, Vippa wins all the votes. Established on the docks of Oslo in April 2017, at the end of the pier, it offers after work get-togethers, concerts and lectures, among many other events. A former hangar, this immense space with graffiti-covered walls now houses various stalls with fish-based snacks, one more delicious than the next. At any time of the day you can also taste a fish & chips, facing the fjord.
The place upholds a simple objective: to bring together Oslovians and tourists around the cuisine and culture. While eating remains a social bond, it also includes partying. Thus, during crab season in October, Vippa celebrates shellfish. On the menu, fresh crab and ille brød (black bread), mayonnaise, aioli, lemon and dill. Everything is a treat, with CrabDJ in the background, of course!
